Ignacio Izquierdo
CEO
Ignacio Izquierdo has been the CEO of Aviva Spain since November 2008. Before joining Aviva, Ignacio was CEO, Santander Asset Management UK Ltd., Santander Group’s UK asset management division. Before that, he was Sales and Marketing Director at Abbey Insurance and Asset Management Division, a role he held since February 2006.
Ignacio joined Santander Group in 1996, when he was appointed Regional Manager, Gesbansander. During this period, he has held a number of responsibility roles, including Private Banking Deputy Director, Banif, and Commercial and Marketing Director at Santander Asset Management. In June 2005 he joined Abbey in London, becoming Savings and Investment Director at Abbey Retail Division.
Alberto Montón
Corporate Director IT & Operations / General Manager of Aviva Servicios Compartidos
Alberto Montón is IT & operations corporate director since April 2008. He is responsible for managing and coordinating IT projects across Aviva Spain, as well as for delivering a consistent business protection strategy for the Spanish business.
He began his career in the insurance industry in Winterthur in 1987. In 1990 he joined Andersen Consulting as senior consultant and manager. He held this role up until 1994, when he joined Caser management board. He worked for Sema Group between 1996 and 2001, when he joined Indra. At Indra he held several senior positions, such as head of finance & insurance. In 2005 he became IT managing director of two companies belonging to Indra Group. In 2005 he joined Grupo Santander as global IT director for insurance & asset management.
Constancio Picazo
Corporate director of Strategy and Planning
Constancio Picazo is Corporate director of Strategy and Planning since January 2012. He also deals directly with our bancassurance partners.
His professional career began in Banco Vizcaya, where he held different positions both in banking and technical areas. Within the BBVA Group, he joined Plus Ultra in 1978 as head of the accountancy and administration department. In 1990, Norwich Union acquired Plus Ultra and Constancio remained as financial director of the company. He was later promoted to deputy general manager, administration and control. He held this role until 2002, when he became corporate financial director of Aviva Grupo Corporativo.
He is a board member of Aviva Grupo Corporativo and the bancassurance companies. He is also a member of the audit and the investments committee of the bancassurance companies.
Constancio has been teaching Financial Direction at the ICEA master in Insurance Management for 15 years.
Neil Stewart
Finance and Actuarial Corporate Director
Finance and Actuarial Corporate Director since January 2012. He’s responsible for the financial function in Spain and coordinates the relationship with the financial team in the UK.
Neil Stewart started his career in 1979 in Abbey Life Assurance Company as an actuarial trainee. During and after qualification he gained wide experience in all areas of actuarial work. In 1992 Neil took the opportunity to work in Aviva Spain. More recently in 2009 Neil moved into a European role within Aviva and led the European Financial,ALM and Insurance risk team. He has a wide experience in the insurance business in Spain, including the role of Actuarial Corporate Director of Aviva Spain from 2002 to 2009.
José Caturla
Corporate Investments Director
José Caturla is corporate investments director and managing director of Aviva Gestión de Inversiones, AIE, Aviva Spain’s investment management company of pension funds and insurance portfolio. His role includes management and administration of the investments of the Group in Spain, as well as defining different investment strategies for products.
José started his professional career in 1982 supervising sectorial compensations between mining and electrical companies at Ofico. He was investments director at Eagle Star in Spain and assistant general manager, investments, at Plus Ultra. He is corporate investments director at Aviva Grupo Corporativo since 2002.
María Jesús Carrasco
Business Development Director
María Jesús Carrasco is Business Development Director since April 2009, with responsibility over the bancassurance business throughout Spain. María Jesús has been working at Aviva since 2007.
She began her professional career in the insurance industry in 1987, at the new business actuarial area of Winterthur GI, holding several responsibility positions until 1992, when she was appointed actuarial director for Levante area, holding responsibility over new business and claims technical results. In 1994 she was appointed central actuarial director, with responsibility over the company decentralisation process. Following the company reorganisation, María Jesús was appointed risk underwriting manager for corporate accounts. In 2006 she joined Caja Campo as broker office director. In 2007 she joined Aviva as coordinator for the business networks, Aseval.
Samuel Rodríguez
HR Director
Samuel Rodríguez is HR Director since April 2009. He is responsible for designing and implementing the HR strategy in Spain, ensuring alignment with the regional strategic lines. His functional areas include labour relations, internal communications and training & development.
Samuel began his professional career as an HR consultant, working for Deloitte & Touche and HayGroup as project manager, developing both domestic and international projects. In October 2005 he was appointed HR Director of one of Honeywell Spanish divisions. In January 2007 he joined Aviva as HR Development Manager, Aviva Vida y Pensiones. Samuel held this role until January 2009, when he took over responsibility over the training & development function at a Group level.
Juan Vidal
Risk Director
Juan Vidal is Aviva Spain Risk Director since 1st September 2009. He is responsible for the risk and control functions of the Group in Spain, ensuring alignment with the regional strategy and structure.
Juan has developed most of his career in the risk control area in the financial industry. He began in 1991 in the Spanish bank Banesto. In 1999 he was appointed Risk Director of the Asset Management division of the Group Santander and in 2006 he was designated for the creation of the Risk area of Santander Asset Management in the United Kingdom. Juan has held this role until he joined Aviva in September 2009.
Alfonso Bujanda
Legal Director
Alfonso Bujanda was appointed legal director of Aviva Spain in April 2010. He is responsible for defining and implementing the legal strategy in Spain, and for establishing and setting common criteria in legal advice for all Aviva Spain business units, he also coordinates the different legal teams.He is also responsible for coordinating the secretary-general’s functions.
Alfonso joined Aviva Group in 1999. In 2009 he took responsibility for the legal function in Aviva Servicios Compartidos AIE. His career has been always linked to the insurance industry.
Pedro Muñoz
Product and Actuarial Director
Pedro Muñoz is Product and Actuarial Director of Aviva Servicios Compartidos and a member of the Executive Committee since April 2010. He is responsible for product development in Aviva Spain.
Pedro is actuary and has been working in the insurance industry for 20 years. Since he joined Aseval in 1990 he has held different positions with technical and business development responsibilities.
Amador Moreno
General Manager of Aviva Vida y Pensiones
Amador Moreno is since 1st April 2009 General Manager of Aviva Vida y Pensiones. He is responsible for the sale of financial products and insurances through professional intermediaries and financial advisors of the Group in Spain.
He began his professional career in the insurance industry in 1993 when he joined Ocaso in the sales department. He was appointed sales manager for the Spanish centre area of Ocaso in 1996. He joined Aegon Inversión as sales director in 2003 being responsible for elaborating and implementing the sales plan, as well as for developing agreements with banks and financial institutions.
José Fuentes
General Manager, Aseval
José Fuentes is general manager of Aseval since September 2008, although he has been linked to the company since 1991. Before becoming general manager, José was business development director at Aviva, taking part in several global bancassurance projects.
He began his career in Banco de Valencia; later on, he joined Aseval as Deputy Sales Manager. In 1993 he was appointed Planning Director and in 1994 he became Group marketing and sales director. He held this role until 1997, when he joined Bancaja Insurance as business director. In 2008 he became business director, Aseval.
José Luis Calderón
General Manager, CxG Aviva
Jose Luis is general manager of CxG Aviva, since Aviva signed the agreement for acquiring 50% of the company’s capital. His main responsibility is coordinating CxG Aviva team in order to conduct the relationship between Aviva and Caixa Galicia, making easier the achievement of common objectives.
He began his career in 1998 in the finance department of Euroseguros, with responsibilities related to organization, investments and accountability. In 1989 he became financial director in Aseval, with the challenge of boosting the company launch. At the beginning of 1994 he was appointed deputy manager, and after half a year he became general manager. He held this position until Aviva acquired 50% of the company’s capital.
José Luis Jiménez
General Manager, Unicorp Vida
He has been general manager of Unicorp Vida since Aviva became part of the company’s shareholders. José Luis has been linked to the company since 1992.
He started his career in the insurance industry at Eurovida, a company part of Grupo Banco Popular y Allianz, where he held the position of area manager for the bank network in Málaga, Cádiz and Granada. In 1992 he became commercial director of Unicorp Vida. In October 1996 Unicaja created an insurance brokerage and appointed him as manager-technical director.
Francisco Anel
General Manager, Caja España Vida
Francisco Anel is general manager of Caja España Vida since 2006, hardly one year after joining the company as a financial director.
Francisco began his career in 1999 at IBM. In 2000 he joined SOS Seguros y Reaseguros as head of administration. In the same year he broke into the financial field as team leader at PwC. He remained in that position until 2005, when he went back to León to join Aviva.
Pedro Moles
General Manager, CajaGranada Vida
Pedro Moles is general manager of Caja Granada Vida since 1 February 2011; however, he has been linked to the company since 2002.
Pedro has a Law degree and a wide experience in the insurance sector. Since 2002 he has held different positions within the broker structure of CajaGranada Vida. In 2004 he became operations director of General Vida, currently CajaGranada Vida. He joined the bancassurance operator of CajaGranada Mediación in 2009 as operations director and technical manager. He has recently left this role to join Caja Granada Vida as the general manager.
José Luis Ortiz
General Manager, Cajamurcia Vida
José Luis Ortiz has joined Aviva as the general manager of Cajamurcia Vida following the agreement signed by Aviva and Cajamurcia.
Previously, he worked at CaiFor -a pioneering bancassurance group in Spain- for seventeen years, during which he developed several tasks, such as responsible for commercial advisers, coordination / sales in offices, product training for employees and action implementations at commercial offices.
