CGNU Group was renamed as Aviva in 2002. It was born in 2000 following the merger between Norwich Union and CGU. Aviva is a globally recognised financial product and service provider operating in more than 25 countries and reaching 50 million customers worldwide. Aviva decided to operate under one single brand because, as a global provider, we want our customers to recognise us all over the world.
The Aviva name, analysed by several market research studies, refers to concepts such as life and vitality, which are entirely aligned to the message we want to give our customers through our brand image.
