Accessibility
The accessibility guidelines aim to ensure that information on the Internet is available to all users, irrespective of disability, age or the platform used.
Our objective here at Aviva is to facilitate the provision and availability of our web content so that everyone who browses our site can do so without difficulty. For this reason we have tried to ensure that the site conforms to W3C*- WAI** Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0.
Aviva is putting a lot of effort into usability. New style guides have been introduced, taking into account all the elements that make websites more accessible (scripts, frames, forms, style sheets, understandable links, etc.).
A thorough checking process of the sites has been carried out in order to detect any points of conflict and to minimise their impact on the websites.
What level of accessibility does the website have?
Our objective is to achieve Double-A conformance and to continue working towards compliance where, for technical reasons, we have not been able to comply with the standard. In cases where a number of PDFs do not comply with all accessibility standards, we are working to ensure they do. PDFs can be recognised by voice browsers where the Adobe Acrobat Reader plugin is installed.
Aviva is committed to accessibility and we are working to ensure that our websites are accessible to all users.
*W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) is an independent consortium body dedicated to the development of the Internet and its standards.
